By traveling to the Cu Chi Tunnels by speedboat, you’ll arrive ahead of the large bus tour groups, allowing you to explore the tunnels in a more peaceful and uncrowded environment. Our speedboats are comfortable and spacious, with plenty of room for you to stretch out and relax during the journey. As you travel along the Saigon River, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the city and the traditional river life that lines the banks. Our English-speaking guide will share insights into life along the river and the history of the area, giving you a unique perspective on this vibrant city.

Once you arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels, you’ll have the opportunity to explore this fascinating network of underground passageways that were built and used by the VC during various conflicts. Our knowledgeable guide will lead you through the tunnels, explaining the various communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches, and living quarters that were constructed here. One of the highlights of the tour is the chance to crawl through a section of the tunnels yourself, giving you a firsthand experience of what it was like for the soldiers who lived and fought here. After exploring the tunnels, you’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch, featuring local specialties like lemongrass chicken and caramelized clay pot pork.

Morning Half Day Program (5-6 hours)

7:00 am: Early in the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel’s lobby and bring you by car to our speedboat at Bach Dang pier.

7:20 am: Then you will depart Saigon by speedboat. Within 15 minutes, the banks of the river change from city sprawl to lush jungle. A light breakfast of sandwiches or pastries, fresh tropical fruits and Vietnamese iced coffee (Ca phe sua da) is served, as your guide explains rural traditions and aspects of riverbank life.

8:50 am: You will arrive at the Cu Chi Tunnels site before the majority of larger bus tours arrive. Watch a brief introductory ‘propaganda’ video to the Cu Chi area.

9:00 am: Explore the tunnel site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.

11:00 am: Enjoy a delicious traditional Vietnamese lunch by the river, consisting of authentic fried spring rolls, chicken and beef dishes and soup.

11:30 am: Say goodbye to Cu Chi Tunnel and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

01:00 pm: Arrive back at Bach Dang’s pier and transfer you back to your hotel by car.
